STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team has announced the addition of Ashley Davis, who will make her return to Stillwater as a member of head coach Jacie Hoyt's coaching staff.
"Ashley is the perfect addition to round out our coaching staff. She did a great job in her previous stop here," Hoyt said. "She has tremendous experience in the Big 12 as well as recruiting at the absolute highest level the last couple years. I am positive that her experience paired with her passion for Oklahoma State athletics will help take us to new levels."
A member of the staff at OSU for six seasons, Davis makes her return as an assistant coach after spending the past two campaigns as an assistant at Arizona. This past year, she helped the Wildcats to their third consecutive NCAA Tournament berth and the program's fifth consecutive 20-win season. Arizona was ranked for the entirety of the year, climbing as high as No. 12.
The Wildcats eclipsed the 20-win mark during her first season in Tucson, while hosting and playing in the NCAA Tournament at home for the first time since 1998.
Davis' first stint in Stillwater concluded in the second round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament and saw Natasha Mack become the program's most recent WNBA Draft pick as well as the WBCA and Naismith Defensive Player of the Year.
During her six seasons at OSU, the Cowgirls earned three NCAA bids and one WNIT berth. She helped coach four All-Americans, five All-Big 12 selections, three WNBA Draft picks and five 1,000-point scorers during her time in Stillwater.
Prior to her arrival at OSU, Davis coached at North Texas for two seasons, serving as the program's associate head coach for the 2014-15 season.
She was also an assistant coach for four seasons at Georgetown and helped the Hoyas to 20-win seasons in all four years. During her time with the program, Georgetown made three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 berth in 2011, and reached the quarterfinals of the WNIT in 2009.
A native of San Antonio, Texas, Davis was a four-year letterwinner at TCU and was twice named an all-conference selection. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration in 2005 and received her master's in educational administration in 2007.
Davis' hiring is pending a standard background check.
