Cowboy Baseball Duo Tabbed Big 12’s Best

IRVING, Texas – Oklahoma State's Nolan McLean and Nolan Schubart collected Big 12 weekly awards for their performances in week three.
McLean was named the Big 12 Player of the Week, while Schubart earned Big 12 Co-Newcomer of the Week honors. The duo led the Cowboys to a 4-0 week as they extended their winning streak to five games.
McLean fueled OSU at the plate and on the mound as he led the Cowboys with a .500 batting average (6-for-12) and added a pair of saves on the mound to continue to lead the NCAA in that category.
The two-way star's week included two home runs, a triple and six RBIs, and he also drew seven walks - he now ranks fourth nationally in walks with 17. He was also 3-for-3 on stolen base attempts.
In the series sweep of Austin Peay, McLean was 6-for-9 (.667) with six RBIs and four walks, and he homered twice in the series finale.
McLean recorded a save in OSU's 12-10 win at Missouri State as he worked the ninth inning, and he posted another save in the series-clinching second game against APSU as he recorded a strikeout in a scoreless ninth to secure the Cowboys' 2-1 victory.
Schubart posted a .444 batting average as the freshman outfielder went 8-for-18 at the plate and led the Cowboys with nine RBIs to go along with two home runs and a double.
In a midweek win at Missouri State, Schubart went 3-for-6, slugged two homers and collected six RBIs, tying him for the most in a game by a Big 12 player this season. His three-run home run in the seventh inning extended OSU's lead to 12-8 in a game they went on to win 12-10.
In the series opener against Austin Peay, Schubart tallied a career-high four hits to go along with three RBIs.
Schubart leads the Cowboys with a .389 batting average, four homers and 13 RBIs.
