Cowboy Golf Opens Spring Slate In Hawaii

WAIMEA, Hawaii – Oklahoma State's men's golf team will get its spring schedule underway this week when it begins play at the Amer Ari Invitational at Hapuna Golf Course.
The Cowboys will be one of 20 teams in action at the par-72, 6,875-yard layout. The event will consist of 54 holes with 18 being contested each day and play beginning on Wednesday. Play will get underway with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. (HST). The Pokes will be grouped with Texas Tech, San Jose State and Pacific to begin play.
OSU's starting lineup will consist of fifth years Leo Oyo and Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen, juniors Jonas Baumgartner and Bo Jin and sophomore Jordan Wilson, who will be making his first appearance in the starting five for head coach Alan Bratton's squad.
Seniors Hazen Newman and Dillon Stewart will compete individually.
Last year, the Cowboys rallied to win the event after firing a 24-under 264 during their final round to finish at 50-under 814.
Individually, Eugenio Chacarra closed with a course-record 62 to claim medalist honors as well. With his win, he joined Matthew Wolff, Jordan Niebrugge, Jonathan Moore, Tyler Leon, Bratton and Craig Hainline as OSU medalists at the event.
The Cowboys have captured the tournament title nine times since its inception in 1991.
