PANAMA CITY, Fla. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team fired its low round of the event on Tuesday, closing with a 279 to move into a tie for sixth place at the Watersound Invitational at Shark's Tooth Golf Course.
The Cowboys' 9-under tally during their third round gave them an 860 total and jumped them two spots into a tie with Notre Dame. Vanderbilt outlasted Georgia Tech by a shot to emerge victorious with an 826 total at the par-72, 7,246-yard layout.
Florida State's Frederik Kjettrup fired a 65 to finish at 198 and five shots clear of the field in the individual race.
OSU's Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen closed with a 68 to climb 11 spots into a tie for 14th place at 212. Starting on the back nine, the fifth year went out in 1-over 37 before making his charge on the second nine. Neergaard-Petersen birdied three of his first four holes to move to 2-under for the day. He added an eagle at the sixth and a birdie at the eighth for a 5-under 31.
Junior Bo Jin tied for 31st place after carding an even-par 72 to finish at 1-over 217.
Junior Jonas Baumgartner was a stroke back at 218 and tied for 34th place after closing with a 72.
Sophomore Jordan Wilson wrapped up his first event as a member of the starting five with a 74 to share 54th place at 227.
Fifth year Leo Oyo fired a 67 during his final round.
Competing individually, senior Dillon Stewart posted a 74 tie for 38th place at 220.
