Game Notes:
• Oklahoma State trailed for all of 94 seconds on Wednesday, getting past Wofford, 76-70. The Cowboys stormed to an early 24-11 lead, but allowed Wofford chip play to two entering halftime. OSU lost its lead early in the second half, but returned to the three-point line, generating a mid-quarter 12-2 run to reclaim a double-digit lead, holding off multiple Wofford comeback attempts.
• The Cowboys converted on 15-of-33 threes Wednesday, tying the program's third most threes and seventh-most attempts in a game. Additionally, with 14 threes in its last game against Oral Roberts, it marked the program's most combined threes (29) in back-to-back games.
• Bryce Thompson matched his season high of 19 points while marking five made threes – the most by a Cowboy this season. It was the most by an OSU player since Thompson hit six versus Eastern Washington on March 19, 2023, and was two shy of his career high where he hit seven against Kansas on Dec. 31, 2022.
• Quion Williams set a career-high seven assists to go with five points and seven rebounds. Williams set a career-best 13 points against ORU on Sunday.
• The Cowboys shot a perfect five-of-five (100%) at the charity stripe, marking their first perfect effort at the line since Feb. 13, 2021, where they went nine-of-nine against Kansas State.
• The Cowboys assisted on 21-of-28 (75.0%) field goals on Wednesday. OSU logged 24 assists on 31 made field goals (77.4%) on Sunday, which marked its best assist percentage since Jan. 25, 2020, against Texas A&M.
• Javon Small, Bryce Thompson, Quion Williams, Eric Dailey Jr. and Brandon Garrison started for the Cowboys.
Game Flow:
• Thompson drilled a left-wing triple to open the contest.
• The Cowboys continued to fire from distance, hitting its first four-of-five shots from deep to lead, 14-9. OSU gravitated to the three against Oral Roberts, making its first five shots from three.
• OSU's last three in the stretch, a Thompson triple, sparked a 13-2 run on five-of-eight shooting. The run handed the Cowboys a 24-11 lead with Dailey Jr. adding six points and Marsh adding four in the stretch.
• The Terriers caught fire in response, slashing to the basket for five layups in what was a 15-6 run. Small was the lone contributor for the Cowboys in the six-minute slump with a pair of threes, while Kyler Filewich tallied eight points.
• Despite a late 7-0 stretch from Wofford, Oklahoma State led wire-to-wire in the first half, 37-35.
• Wofford took its first lead of the game at the 18:51 mark of the second half as Corey Tripp hit a layup and push shot.
• Thompson hit his fourth three of the game four minutes into the second half. The senior hit four against the Golden Eagles on Sunday.
• OSU grew its lead back to five as Thompson hit his season-high fifth three on his next attempt. He did so on an efficient five-of-seven clip.
• The Terriers chipped back with a layup and three to knot play, 48-48.
• Connor Dow hit a three to put OSU ahead, 51-48, going into the 10-minute media timeout. For Dow, it was his first made basket since Nov. 24 against Houston Christian.
• Oklahoma State built off Dow, placing a 12-2 run, including nine points unanswered, to reclaim a double-digit lead.
• The Cowboys came up empty on four straight possessions with a pair of misses and turnovers, allowing Wofford to cut play to five with five minutes to go.
• Wofford trailed by three with two minutes to play, clouding out a Jarius Hicklen three with a three and pair of free throws.
• Oklahoma State fired back at the two-minute warning, dialing up a one minute, 7-0 run to lead by 10.
