Cowboys in the NFL: Week Nine
November 07, 2023 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER – We are officially halfway through the NFL season, with several former Cowboy Football standouts continuing to make their presence felt in the big leagues. A look at some of the highlights:
Jaylen Warren continued to impress as he featured in last week's Thursday Night Football contest, helping lead his Pittsburgh Steelers to a 20-16 win over the Tennessee Titans. The former Cowboy ran for a career-high 88 yards on 11 carries, but also chipped in with three receptions for 25 yards. Warren's eight yards per carry was the highest mark by a Steelers' running back with at least 10 carries since 2016.
Tyreek Hill had a relatively quiet week by his standards, as his Miami Dolphins made the trip across the pond to take on his former team, the Kansas City Chiefs, in Frankfurt, Germany. Hill logged 62 yards on eight receptions in a tight game against the Chiefs, however the reigning Super Bowl Champions came out on top, 21-14. Sunday's game marked the first time the NFL has played in Frankfurt, as part of the leagues initiative to grow the game internationally.
Sticking on the offensive side of the ball, former Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year Chuba Hubbard turned in a solid performance for the Carolina Panthers this week, who fell against the Indianapolis Colts, 27-13. Hubbard tallied 58 yards on 16 carries in the loss, bringing his season total to 85 attempts for 328 yards, averaging 3.9 yards per carry on the season.
Teven Jenkins just keeps on impressing Chicago Bears' fans and is even garnering interest for the 2024 Pro Bowl with his performances this season. According to Pro Football Focus, Jenkins was the highest-graded offensive lineman of the week with a grade of 91.1 as he allowed just one pressure on 37 pass blocking snaps.
