Game Notes:
• Three games removed from dropping a career-high 29 points versus Notre Dame, Javon Small led the Cowboys in scoring, tallying 24 points on eight-of-17 shooting and a three-of-four clip from distance.
• Eric Dailey Jr. stayed active on the glass, churning out his first double-digit rebounding effort in his young career with 11. Dailey Jr. was the first freshman Cowboy to log 11 rebounds in a game since Quion Williams at Youngstown State in the NIT on March 15, 2023.
• The Cowboys trotted out a starting lineup of Javon Small, Bryce Thompson, Quion Williams, Eric Dailey Jr. and Brandon Garrison. Thompson returned to the lineup on Thursday, last playing on Nov. 16 against St. Bonaventure.
• Oklahoma State and Creighton teamed up with the The Eddie Sutton Foundation on Thursday to raise awareness for the fight against cancer. The hall of famer coached at both schools during his storied career.
Game Flow:
• Small got hot early, drilling a pair of triples in a 10-4 opening run for OSU.
• Dailey Jr. and Williams joined the early-game party, with Dailey Jr. generating a second chance and-one opportunity and Williams hammering down a right-handed jam in transition.
• Charged by eight points from Steve Ashworth, the Blue Jays turned a five-minute, 19-6 run.
• Oklahoma State responded, hitting four of their next five shots, to knot the game at 23-23.
• Garrison placed blocks on back-to-back possessions, including a pin block.
• Leading by one, Creighton pushed a 17-0 run to lead, 45-27.
• In the midportion of the second half, the Cowboys cut their deficit to 12 with a 7-2 run. Small led the stint, converting on a layup and a three-point shot on the next possession.
• Creighton maintained a double-digit lead for the remainder of the second half.
