Series History: Cowboys Face UCF For First Time In Program History

There's always room for firsts.
Fresh off of defeating then No. 9-ranked Oklahoma, the No. 15-ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys will roll into Orlando on Veterans Day to face the UCF Knights for the first time in program history.
Across 17 Veterans Day contests, the Cowboys hold a 10-7 record. The program is riding a two-game streak on the holiday, last defeating Iowa State, 49-42, in 2017.
For the Cowboys, this game marks their 10th appearance in the Sunshine State and its sixth regular-season contest. OSU carries a perfect 3-0 record in Orlando heading into play.
Oklahoma State's last contest in Orlando saw the Cowboys defeat the No. 23-ranked Miami Hurricanes, 37-34, at the 2020 Cheez-It Bowl.Â
OSU set the tone early as a pair of 30-yard Spencer Sanders touchdown passes to Brennen Presley and a two-yard touchdown run from LD Brown surged the Cowboys to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter. Oklahoma State slowed down in the midportion of play, tallying just three points in the following two quarters, but sprung into action with touchdown passes to Dillon Stoner and Presley.
Sanders closed the day with four passing touchdowns on four touchdowns, while Presley set a career-high with three receiving touchdowns – coming down with 118 yards on six catches.
Defensively, the Cowboys pitched a clinic in coverage, creating 10 pass break-ups, while Tre Sterling marked career highs with 13 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss.
Oklahoma State heads to FBC Mortgage Stadium looking to build its winning streak to six, while UCF back-to-back conference victories after handling Cincinnati, 28-26, last week. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. CT, and the game will be televised live on ESPN with Mike Monaco, Robert Griffin III and Kris Budden on the call.
