Cowgirl Soccer’s Morris Named Big 12’s Best

IRVING, Texas – For the second time this season, Oklahoma State's Alex Morris has been named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week.

Morris earned the final weekly award of the season after leading the Cowgirls to a 1-0 win over Oklahoma in the regular season finale Monday. It was her second time to earn Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honors this season as she also collected the award on Aug. 30.

A senior, Morris scored the game-winning goal in the 83^rd minute, and she played all 90 minutes in the match to help lead the Cowgirls to their ninth shutout of the season.

The win saw OSU finish 9-1-0 on its home field this season, and the Cowgirls extended their unbeaten streak against their Bedlam rivals to nine.

Along with Morris's accolades, OSU had two other Big 12 weekly award winners this season in Hannah Chance (Offensive POW, 8/30) and Laudan Wilson (Freshman of Week, 9/20).
