Cowboys Route Ole Miss in Big 12/SEC Challenge

STILLWATER, Okla. ---- Oklahoma State shot 53 percent from the field and made 22-25 free throws to defeat Ole Miss 82-60 in the Big 12/SEC Challenge.
Kalib Boone paced the Cowboys on the offensive end for the second-straight game, scoring 18 points on a perfect 6-of-6 shooting from the field. Boone has continued to show his improved offensive skills, scoring in double-figures for the 12th time this season.
Avery Anderson III scored 15 of his 17 points in the second half, thanks to stellar night from the free-throw line. Anderson III made 11-of-11 free throws, the most makes without a miss in a game by a Cowboy since Cam McGriff made 13-of-13 since Feb. 10, 2018.
OSU went into the halftime break up 11, led by Woody Newton's 12 first-half points, which tied a career-high.Â
The Cowboys defense swarmed the Rebels all night, holding them to 36 percent from the field and 26 percent from three, while blocking five shots and forcing eight turnovers.
Moussa Cisse came off the bench after missing Wednesday's game at Texas and provided instant defense for the Cowboys. Cisse only played seven minutes, but tallied four rebounds and a block in his return.
OSU now holds a 7-3 record in the Big 12/SEC Challenge and is 5-0 at home.
Saturday's victory brings head coach Mike Boynton's career total to 99, one win shy of becoming the fifth head coach in OSU history to reach the 100-win milestone.
The Cowboys will be back in action on Wednesday in Norman, taking on the Oklahoma Sooners at 8 p.m. CT. The Cowboys defeated the Sooners 72-56 in the first matchup of the season.
