Cowgirl Cross Country Achieves Highest Ranking in Program History at No. 2

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State women's cross country continued its upward trend in the rankings, moving up to No. 2 in this week's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) coaches poll, the organization announced today.
The Cowgirls' No. 2 overall ranking is the highest in program history after their dominant victory at the loaded Cowboy Jamboree this past weekend. They defeated six top-10 teams as four Cowgirls placed inside the top 15, led by Natalie Cook and Taylor Roe, who finished first and second overall. Last week's No. 3 ranking set the program record before the rise to second in the polls this week.
On the men's side, the Cowboys dropped two spots to No. 4 after their fourth-place finish at the Cowboy Jamboree. The top five teams in this week's poll are in the order they finished at the Jamboree as eight top-10 teams competed in the deepest meet of the year thus far. OSU was led by All-Americans Alex Maier and Victor Shitsama, who finished first and third overall.
The Cowgirls and Cowboys take to the course again on Oct. 15, for the Weis-Crockett Invitational on the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course in Stillwater.
