Pro Pokes Recap: Week 2
September 22, 2022 | Cowboy Football
The Cowboys playing in the NFL continued to make an impact for their respective teams in week two of the NFL season.
Â
After receiving high praise for his play and zero missed assignments in his NFL debut, Malcolm Rodriguez continued to impress as he racked up a team-high eight tackles in the Lions' 36-27 win over the Washington Commanders on Sunday. According to Pro Football Focus, Rodriguez was the highest graded run defender among NFL linebackers and the top rookie defender in week two.
Â
Kicker Matt Ammendola made his Kansas City Chiefs debut on Thursday night. The former placekicker for OSU was perfect on the night as he made three extra points and knocked in two field goals, including a 31-yarder in the fourth quarter that was the difference in the 27-24 win over the Chargers.
Â
Former Cowboy running backs, Chuba Hubbard, Jaylen Warren and Justice Hill all got the ball in their hands during their games. Hill logged three carries for 16 yards for the Ravens, while Warren tallied 15 yards on four carries for AFC North rival, Pittsburgh. Hubbard saw playing time in the return game averaging 25.0 yards per return on three kickoffs.
Â
Tyreek Hill had himself a day against the Ravens secondary as he racked up 190 yards on 11 receptions. A pair of long touchdowns, including a 60-yard catch and run to the end zone, helped the Dolphins complete a fourth-quarter comeback to move to 2-0. On the other side of the field, Tylan Wallace had a nine-yard reception to move the Ravens' offense into position to attempt a hail mary.
Â
Defensive backs Tre Flowers (CIN) and A.J. Green (CLE) each recorded a single tackle, while Emmanuel Ogbah (MIA) had two stops. Teven Jenkins started at guard for the Chicago Bears when they take on the Packers on Monday night.
