STILLWATER - Former walk-on wide receiver Anthony Hill was one of 25 Oklahoma State graduates honored as a 2022 Distinguished Alumni with the College of Arts and Sciences.
Â
A Springfield, Missouri native, Hill attended Coffeyville Community College for a year and then transferred to Oklahoma State in 2008 with a theater scholarship. He battled many injuries on the football field that gave him the opportunity to focus on other interests such as theatre.
Â
During his sophomore year at OSU, he joined the football team. Anthony became a letterman in 2010 alongside stars such as Dez Bryant, Brandon Weeden, Justin Blackmon, and Dan Bailey. During his senior year Hill played in seven games and recorded a six-yard reception against Tulsa. He played a part in special teams and was named an Academic All-Big 12 honoree.
Â
While playing football and working towards his theatrical passions he found himself on his way to Los Angles after he graduated from OSU with a bachelor's degree in theatre in 2011. Hill started his career with commercials and modeling, which eventually led to roles on TV shows and in movies. He has been in shows such as NCIS, Scream the TV series, Faith Under Fire and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. In addition, he is currently a main character on ABC's Grey's Anatomy, where he plays Dr. Winston Ndugu.
Â
Evident by his All-Big 12 honor, Hill was an excellent student and very active member in the community. He was a member of Phi Theta Kappa and the OSU Honors College. Among his volunteer activities are trips to assist in Hurricane Katrina cleanup, Red Cross blood drives, United Way Feed the Needy and Harvesters Canned Food Drive.Â
