STILLWATER – Oklahoma State women's cross country moved up one spot to No. 3 in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) coaches poll, the organization announced today.
The men's cross country team held its position at No. 2 after its victory at the Cowboy Preview on Sept. 1 and sit behind reigning national champions Northern Arizona. Eight of the top-10 ranked teams will be competing at this Saturday's Cowboy Jamboree, including the entire top six. The Cowboys picked up two first-place votes in this week's rankings, up from one vote each of the previous two weeks.
On the women's side, the Cowgirls added two votes in this week's poll to equal third-place Colorado ahead of the Jamboree this weekend. Six of the top 10 teams in this week's poll will compete at the Jamboree, with three of those ranked in the top five.
Both the Cowboys and Cowgirls remain ranked in the top spot in the Midwest Region with the top two teams in each region advancing automatically to the NCAA Cross Country Championships, which will be held in Stillwater on Nov. 19.
