Oliver Named an Action Network Preseason All-American

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State defensive end Collin Oliver was selected as a second-team preseason All-American, announced Wednesday by the writers of Action Network.
Oliver is one of 52 FBS players and seven players from the Big 12 named to the All-America teams as he is joined by Kansas State's defensive end Felix Anudike-Uzomah on the second-team defense. The Action Network All-America teams were selected by Brett McMurphy, and senior writers, Colin Wilson and Stuckey.
An Oklahoma City native, Oliver put together one of the most impressive true freshman seasons in the nation and in OSU history in 2021, earning unanimous Big 12 Freshman Defensive Player of the Year honors and freshman All-America honors. Additional accolades included being named a semifinalist for the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award and second team All-Big 12 honors from both the coaches and the Associated Press.
He was one of three national finalists for the 2021 FWAA Freshman of the Year Award after ranking No. 7 in the FBS and setting an OSU freshman record with 11.5 sacks. That total also ranked as the seventh-best single-season total in school history.
The Action Network Preseason All-America team is just the next honor for Oliver ahead of the 2022 season. The sophomore has already been named to the watch lists for the Bednarik Award and the Nagurski Trophy, as well as the All-Big 12 preseason team.
Oklahoma State is scheduled to open the 2022 season September 1 when it faces Central Michigan at Boone Pickens Stadium, with kickoff set for 6 p.m. CT on FS1.
