Cowboy Baseball Collects Academic Honors

IRVING, Texas – Oklahoma State has 12 student-athletes on the 2022 Academic All-Big 12 Baseball Team.
The Cowboys had 10 student-athletes earn Academic All-Big 12 First Team status, highlighted by Jaxson Crull and Jake Thompson, who made the team with a 4.0 grade point average.
Joining Crull and Thompson on the first team are Ryan Bogusz, Marcus Brown, Kale Davis, Nolan McLean, Bryce Osmond, Roman Phansalkar, Mitchell Stone and Caeden Trenkle.
Earning Academic All-Big 12 Second Team honors for the Cowboys were John Bay and Hueston Morrill.
Phansalkar is now a three-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team performer, while Davis, Osmond, Thompson and Trenkle have made the first team twice in their careers.
Stone also received academic honors for a third time, as he has twice been a second-team performer and also a first-team honoree. Morrill has made both the first team and second team during his time in Stillwater.
A total of 121 student-athletes were named to the 2022 Academic All-Big 12 Baseball Team, with 96 first-team members and 25 named to the second team.
First-team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 GPA or better, while the second-team selections hold a 3.00-3.19 GPA.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
