June 10, 2022 | Cowboy Golf
IRVING, Texas – Three members of the Oklahoma State men's golf team were honored with the announcement of the Big 12 Men's Golf awards on Friday by the league office.
Seniors Eugenio Chacarra and Aman Gupta as well as junior Brian Stark were all named first-team all-league selections. The Cowboys have now had at least three representatives on the team 18 times since 1997 and saw their league-best total of all-time selections grow to 77.
Student-athlete honors and the All-Big 12 team are selected based on the season's final Golfweek/Sagarin individual rankings. The medalist of the Big 12 Championship is added if not among the top-10 ranked individuals.
A native of Madrid, Spain, Chacarra was named a first-team All-American after winning three times this season.
In 14 starts this year, Chacarra notched 10 top-10 finishes. In addition to his victories at the Amer Ari Invitational, N.I.T. and the NCAA Columbus Regional, he was runner-up at the NCAA Championship and finished among the top five at the East Lake Cup, Gators Invitational and the Haskins Award Invitational.
Earlier this week, Gupta and Stark also achieved third-team All-America status.
Gupta competed in nine events for the Cowboys during his senior campaign. The Concord, North Carolina native posted three consecutive top 10s this spring, tying for seventh at the General Hackler Championship, finishing in sole possession of third place at the N.I.T. and sharing ninth place at the Haskins Award Invitational.
He also finished in fifth place at the Big 12 Championship.
A native of Kingsburg, California, Stark posted three consecutive top-six finishes in the fall, tying for third at The Carmel Cup, tying for fifth place at the Fighting Illini Invitational and adding a sixth-place showing at the Colonial Collegiate Invitational.
This spring, he added seven top-20 finishes capped by a tie for 15th at the NCAA Championship.
