Cowboy Baseball’s Campbell Collects District Player Of Year Honor

DALLAS – Oklahoma State pitcher Justin Campbell is the 2022 NCBWA District 6 Co-Player of the Year, with the Cowboy sharing the award with Oklahoma's Peyton Graham.
The ace of the OSU pitching staff, Campbell made 17 appearances on the mound this season and was 9-2 with a 3.82 ERA while tossing a pair of complete games.
Campbell ranks among the nation's leaders in strikeouts as the right-hander racked up 141 strikeouts in 101 1/3 innings this season. That total is the fifth-highest season total in program history, and he became only the fourth Cowboy to record 100-plust strikeouts in season twice in a career.
A two-time All-American and All-Big 12 First Team performer, Campbell posted double digit strikeouts in six of his 16 starts, and he struck out at least eight in 11 games. The 2022 season saw him move into seventh place on OSU's all-time strikeouts list with 265 career punchouts.
District 6 includes the programs from Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota.
