Cowboy Baseball Duo Earns Final Big 12 Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas – Oklahoma State picked up a pair of honors on the final list of Big 12 weekly award winners for 2022 as Mitchell Stone was named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week and Zach Ehrhard the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week for Week 13.
The Cowboy duo helped lead OSU to a series win at Baylor on the final weekend of the regular season; it marked the Pokes sixth Big 12 series victory of the season.
In Saturday's series-clinching finale, Stone came out of the bullpen to open the second inning with OSU facing a 3-0 deficit and stabilized things in dominating fashion to earn a win.
The senior southpaw worked 6 1/3 innings and allowed just three hits and one earned run. He also tallied five strikeouts, his highest total in a Big 12 game this season, and retired the side in order four times.
Ehrhard went 7-for-14 at the plate against the Bears and collected multiple hits in each contest, including tying a career high with three hits in game two. Five of Ehrhard's hits went for extra bases as he led the Cowboys with three doubles, seven runs scored and 16 total bases.
A freshman outfielder, Ehrhard also smacked two home runs on the weekend after entering the game with just one on the season as he went deep in both wins.
OSU counted eight Big 12 weekly award winners in 2022. Along with this week's honorees, Justin Campbell captured three awards (Pitcher of Week, March 28, April 18 and April 25), while Trevor Martin (Pitcher of Week, Feb. 21), Roc Riggio (Newcomer of Week, April 11) and Nolan McLean (Player of Week, May 2) also claimed accolades.
