Cowboy Baseball Collects Academic Honors

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State has four student-athletes on the 2021-22 Academic All-District Baseball Team as selected by CoSIDA.
Recognized with Division I Academic All-District 7 honors for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom are Cowboys Marcus Brown, Bryce Osmond, Jake Thompson and Caeden Trenkle. District 7 includes teams from Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas.
A marketing major, Brown is hitting .324 with three home runs and 23 RBIs and leads the Cowboys with a .351 average in Big 12 Conference play.
Osmond, who is majoring in management information systems, is 4-1 in 11 starts on the mound this season and has tallied 70 strikeouts in 56.1 innings. In Big 12 play, the right-hander is 4-0 with a 3.00 ERA.
Thompson graduated with a degree in university studies in 2021 and is currently working towards a graduate degree in leisure studies. He leads the Cowboys in hitting with a .330 average and RBIs with 46 and is also second on the team with 11 homers.
Majoring in sports management, Trenkle has played in 46 games for the Cowboys and is hitting .267 with five homers and 31 RBIs. He also has five stolen bases and ranks ninth on OSU's all-time list with 10 career triples.
The four Cowboys now advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot, with the Academic All-America teams being announced in June.
