Cowgirl Tennis Adds Kristina Novak

Oklahoma State's women's tennis team has added a blue-chip transfer for the 2022-23 season with the signing of Kristina Novak, it was announced today by Cowgirl head coach Chris Young.Â

"We are very excited to sign a player with the talent and character of Kristina," Young said. "She will bring a lot of experience to our program and I believe her best tennis is to come."Â

Slovenia native Novak will make her way to Stillwater for the upcoming year after spending three seasons at the University of Nebraska.Â

Novak has an Intercollegiate Tennis Association high singles ranking of No. 88 and was 50-25 in singles action and 33-23 in doubles, playing at the court one spots this season for the Cornhuskers. In addition, she holds a 10.51 Universal Tennis Rating.Â

Novak is a two-time first-team All-Big Ten selection. Off the court, Novak was named to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll and was Academic All-Big Ten as well. She was also awarded the Sam Foltz 27 Hero Leadership Award and was a member of th 2022 Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.Â

Before Nebraska, Novak participated in the Australian Open Juniors tournament. Novak has also won a total of seven ITF Junior Doubles tournaments in Austria, Italy, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina (twice), Hungary and Slovenia. Novak trained at Teniski Klub Triglav Kranj for 10 years before playing at Teniski Klub Radomlje in 2018.
