Spring Preview: Cornerbacks
April 09, 2022 | Cowboy Football
With spring football practice underway at Oklahoma State, okstate.com is taking a look at the status of every position group to break down the personnel and how things look heading into the 2022 season. Next up, the Cowboy cornerbacks:
OSU will have to replace both of its All-Big 12 starting cornerbacks after the departure of Christian Holmes and Jarrick Bernard-Converse.
The most likely candidates are juniors Jabbar Muhammad, who earned his first start in the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl, and Korie Black. They have both rotated in each of the past two seasons and have seen meaning playing time on defense.
Demarco Jones and Jordan Reagan have also played double-digit games, with the majority of their experience coming on special teams so far.
Freshman Dylahn McKinney enrolled early to participate in spring practice and will add depth along with other returners in Cam Smith, Raymond Gay II, De'kelvion Beamon, Kale Smith, DeSean Buckner and Cole Stanley.
