OSU Outdoor Track & Field Wraps up John Jacobs Invitational with Impressive Performances

NORMAN, Okla. – Oklahoma State outdoor track & field wrapped up its second straight weekend in Norman, Okla., with several impressive performances in the John Jacobs Invitational.
Micalah Millard opened the day for the Cowgirls in the Javelin Throw, setting a new personal best with a throw of 44.00 meters, which moves her up to fifth on OSU's all-time list. Olivija Vaitaityte also competed in the event, placing fifth with a throw of 39.44 meters.
Saara Hakanen continued the momentum for the Cowgirls, winning the women's High Jump after clearing a season-best height of 1.73 meters on Saturday.
In the women's 400 Meters, Christina Ollison and Kalaya Ali each earned top five finishes with times of 54.44 and 55.38, respectively. Ali's time was a personal best on her way to her fifth-place finish in the event.
On the men's side, Max Braht won the Pole Vault with a personal-record vault of 5.00 meters. It's the first time Braht has cracked the five-meter mark in his career and his vault was the eighth highest in program history.
Kobe Christiansen finished fifth overall in the men's 800 Meters with a personal-best time of 1:53.23, which breaks his previous best time of 1:53.31 set last weekend at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.
In the women's 200 Meters, Brooke Givens, Tori Ortiz, Ollison and Ali all finished inside the top ten with Givens and Ortiz setting new personal bests with times of 24.19 and 24.23, respectively. Those times also rank eighth and ninth in program history.
Immediately following the 200 Meters was the women's 3,000 Meter Steeplechase, where the Cowgirls took four of the top five spots in the race, led by Molly Humes' personal-best time of 11:29.00. Natalia Cleveland, Amelia Jauregui and Emily Forster finished third, fourth and fifth, respectively with times of 11:32.25, 11:39.06 and 11:56.38.
The Cowboys and Cowgirls return next weekend at the 112th edition of the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa. OSU will be competing for its first Hy-vee Cup victory in program history at the historic relays consisting of several relay events including the 4x400, Sprint Medley, Distance Medley, 4x100 and 4x200 Meters.
