Cowboy Baseball's Riggio Collects Big 12 Award

IRVING, Texas – Oklahoma State's Roc Riggio is the Big 12 Conference Co-Newcomer of the Week for Week 8.
Riggio hit safely in all four of the Cowboys' games last week to help lead OSU to three wins, including a Bedlam Series victory over Oklahoma. He went 6-for-17 (.353) with three doubles, two home runs and five RBIs and posted an .882 slugging percentage.
The Cowboys' freshman second baseman had a clutch performance on Saturday against Oklahoma as he went 3-for-4 with a pair of homers, a double and five RBIs. With OSU trailing the Sooners 7-5 in the eighth inning, he blasted a game-tying home run, and the Pokes went on to win the game to even the series.
Riggio is the Cowboys' third Big 12 weekly award winner in 2022, joining Trevor Martin (Pitcher of Week, Feb. 21) and Justin Campbell (Pitcher of Week, March 28).
