STILLWATER – Oklahoma State outdoor track & field capped off its first full weekend in action with a pair of meets Saturday at the Texas Relays and ORU Invitational.
Down in Austin, Texas, at the prestigious relays, the men's 4x400 Meter Relay squad of EJ Berry, Koryee Wyatt, Charlie Bartholomew and DJ McArthur placed second overall, breaking the 39-year-old program record in the event with a blistering time of 3:05.51.
Bartholomew and McArthur ran the final two legs for the Cowboys with times of 45.93 and 45.99 seconds, respectively, being the only team in the field to have each of its final two legs finish in under 46 seconds.
The women's 4x400 Meter Relay group of Kalaya Ali, Nickie Dixon, Christina Ollison and Tori Ortiz also raced in the finals on Saturday in Austin, placing fourth overall with a time of 3:37.64. The same quartet also ran in the prelims on Friday, running the third-fastest time in school history with their qualifying time of 3:35.72.
Meanwhile in Tulsa at the ORU Invitational, several OSU athletes competed for the first time this season and got off to a hot start in their respective events.
Johnna Orange, Sam Mason and Zac Robbins each set new personal bests in the Hammer Throw, with Robbins and Mason launching the third and fourth-longest hammer throws in program history.
