Cowboys Move Into Fifth At Amer Ari Invite

KAMUELA, Hawaii – Oklahoma State's men's golf team carded a 277 during its second round at the Amer Ari Invitational on Friday to dip into fifth place at Hapuna Golf Course.
Through 36 holes, the Cowboys stand at 26-under 550 and two shots behind Pepperdine for fourth place at the par-72, 6,875-yard layout. Texas Tech posted a 267 during its second round to move into first place at 540, while Arizona State stands in second at 541 and Washington is third at 546.
Tech's Baard Skogen carded a 65 on Friday to stand atop the individual leaderboard at 13-under 131.
A pair of Cowboys finished the day inside the top 10 with junior Rayhan Thomas and senior Eugenio Chacarra finishing among the group tied for eighth place at 135. Thomas followed an opening 68 with a 67 to get to his 9-under total, while Chacarra posted a 68 after carding an opening 67.
After opening with a 68, junior Brian Stark carded a 70 to slide into a tie for 21st place at 138.
Freshman Tiger Christensen signed for a 72 and finished the day tied for 47th place at 142, while sophomore Jonas Baumgartner carded a 75 to stand at 147 and tied for 79th place.
Juniors Hazen Newman and Dillon Stewart are competing individually. Newman carded a 71 during his second round to finish the day tied for 34th place at 140, while Stewart's 73 gave him a 150 total and tied him for 97th place.
The Cowboys will begin their final round tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. (HST) and will be grouped with North Carolina, Georgia Tech and UCLA. Live scoring for the event is available at golfstat.com.
