STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State safety Jason Taylor II was honored as a second team member of the 2022 Walter Camp All-America Team, announced Thursday by the Walter Camp Football Foundation.
The recognition marks the 28th time since 2008 that an Oklahoma State football player has earned a spot on one of the NCAA-recognized All-America teams, as well as the sixth-consecutive season that at least one Cowboy has earned the honor.
A senior out of Oklahoma City, Taylor was a semifinalist for the Paycom Jim Thorpe Award and a first team All-Big 12 pick this season. Among all Power Five players this year, he ranks No. 1 with six total interceptions and No. 2 with 72 solo tackles.
He has earned a reputation as a big playmaker over the course of his career and has added to that this season with a two-interception game in OSU's win over Texas, a game-sealing fourth quarter interception at Baylor and other game-changing interceptions against Iowa State, Oklahoma and West Virginia.
With Taylor's honor, he becomes the eighth Oklahoma State safety to earn All-America recognition. He joins Harry Cheatwood (1967), Alvin Brown (1973), Rod Brown (1984), Mark Moore (1985 and 1986), Markelle Martin (2011), Tre Flowers (2017) and Kolby Harvell-Peel (2021).
Taylor is also one of the leading players on a Cowboy defense that enters the Guaranteed Rate Bowl ranked among the top five in the FBS in third down conversion percentage defense.
