Bryce Thompson started the scoring for the Cowboys with a smooth fadeaway jumper to give them a 2-0 lead a minute in.

During an early 11-0 run that gave the Cowboys a 15-5 lead, Oklahoma State's defense held UCF scoreless for more than five minutes and caused four turnovers.

After one made basket by the Golden Knights, OSU's defense continued its dominance by holding UCF scoreless for another six-plus minutes to extend the lead to 22-7 with 7:43 remaining in the first half.
