Two Receive OSU Seniors of Significance Honor

Maggie Grappe, Traber Smithton join list of Spirit Squad members to receive award.
Maggie Grappe, a senior on the Oklahoma State Cheer squad, and Traber Smithton, one of two Pistol Petes for the OSU Spirit Squad, were named OSU Seniors of Significance for the 2022-23 academic year.
Grappe, a three-time national champion, is the third OSU Cheerleader to be named a Senior of Significance, joining Jenny Kise (1998) and Brya d'Abrosca (2018). Likewise, Smithton is the third Pistol Pete to be named a Senior of Significance, joining Rhett Minson and Ryan Stafford, who were both recognized in 1998.
Three Oklahoma State Pom squad members have also been named a Senior of Significance: Hally Rector (1998), Julia Benbrook (2017) and Emily Fry (2019).
The honoring of Grappe and Smithton give the Oklahoma State Spirit Squad multiple members of the prestigious list for the first time since 1998, when four members were named Top Ten Seniors.
