Oklahoma State Cross Country Set for Big 12 Championships
October 27, 2022 | Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
THE BASICS
Oklahoma State cross country enters the postseason each ranked inside the top 5 for the first time in program history. Both the Cowboys and Cowgirls have been ranked in the top 4 four overall throughout the season and are looking to defend their 2021 Big 12 titles at the Big 12 Cross Country Championships this Friday in Lubbock, Texas.
Â
RUN IT BACK
The Cowgirls begin postseason play with one of the most talented rosters in program history. All-Americans Taylor Roe, Gabija Galvydyte and Gabby Hentemann are joined by freshman superstars Natalie Cook and Billah Jepkirui, each of whom have already tallied victories this season in their first taste of collegiate cross country. In their victories, Cook and Jepkirui have already cracked the top-10 fastest times in Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course history, which will also play host to the 2022 NCAA Cross Country Championships in November.
Â
The Cowboys enter postseason action with some star athletes making their season debuts this weekend. All-Americans Alex Maier and Victor Shitsama will be joined by fellow All-American Isai Rodriguez as well as Fouad Messaoudi, both of whom will be making their season debuts at the conference meet.
