Cowgirl Rally Against West Virginia Comes Up Short

STILLWATER, Okla.— Oklahoma State's women's basketball team staged a second-half rally, but ultimately came out on the short side of a 61-57 defeat against West Virginia on Saturday afternoon inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
After scoring the first six points of the game, OSU saw the Mountaineers reel off a 23-0 run to take command of the game. WVU shot 67 percent in the quarter, while OSU connected on just four of its 17 shots, to take a 25-10 lead.
The Cowgirls won the second quarter, 15-13, to get within 13 heading into the second half.
OSU opened the third quarter on an 11-1 run to get within three at 39-36 with five minutes left. However, the Mountaineers countered with a 10-0 run to regain their cushion.
The Cowgirls pulled within four at 54-40 with four minutes remaining before trimming the margin to 56-55 with 1:37 on the clock, but the Mountaineers halted the rally with a 3-pointer with 64 ticks remaining.
Lexy Keys led OSU with a career-high 22 points and was joined in double figures by Taylen Collins, who added 12 points and eight rebounds.
