Cowboys Emerge Victorious In Season Opener At Pebble Beach

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team was victorious in its season opener at The Carmel Cup on Sunday, holding off the field for a one-shot victory at Pebble Beach Golf Links.
The victory marked the fourth time in seven tries the Cowboys have won the event. OSU won three in a row at the historic venue from 2015 to 2017.
OSU posted a 5-under 355 during its third round to finish at 18-under 1,062 and one shot clear of Oklahoma. Arkansas was third after posting a 1,067 total at the par-72, 6,828-yard layout.
Logan McAllister of OU and Georgia's Trent Phillips each finished at 10-under 206 to pace the field.
Junior Brian Stark closed with a 68 to finish at 5-under 211 and tied for third place. Stark turned in a bogey-free outward nine that featured three birdies. He added another birdie at the 10th before carding his lone bogey of the round at the 14th. He closed with a birdie at the 18th to move back to 4-under par for the round.
Stark was joined in the top 10 by senior Eugenio Chacarra, who closed with a 72 to finish at 212 and tied for sixth place.
Junior Rayhan Thomas' closing 70 got him in with a 216 total and tied for 20th place.
Sophomore Bo Jin carded a 71 and was a stroke back at 217 and tied for 24th place, while junior Dillon Stewart turned in a closing 74 to tie for 27th place at 218.
Senior Aman Gupta carded a 74 to finish tied for 34th place at 220.
