Cowgirl Tennis Wraps Up Day Two In Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas — The Oklahoma State trio of Ayumi Miyamoto, Mhai Sawangkaew and Oona Orpana all competed on day two at the West Texas Pro Tennis Open on Wednesday.
The day started with the lone singles match for OSU where Sawangkaew defeated Oklahoma's Carmen Corley, 6-3, 6-3, in straight sets to advance to play teammate Ayumi Miyamoto tomorrow.
In doubles play, both Cowgirl duos were eliminated from the main draw in hard-fought battles.
Miyamoto and Sawangkaew dominated the first set, but fell short losing to the nation's ITA preseason top-ranked duo in Carmen and Ivana Corley of Oklahoma, 6-2, 1-6, (10-5).
Orpana/Kanapatskaya dropped their match to Maria Kononova and Kelly Williford, 6-2, 3-6, (8-10).
All three Cowgirls remain in the main draw for singles. Orpana will face Giulia Morlet and Miyamoto will face Sawangkaew.
Matches will start at 10 a.m.
