OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team earned a third-place finish at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational on Sunday at Olympia Fields Country Club.
The top-ranked Cowboys closed the event with a round of 283 to finish with a 54-hole total of 851, 11-over par. North Carolina won the event with an 842 tally, while Arizona State was second with an 845 team score at the par-70, 7,310-yard layout.
UNC's Austin Greaser posted a 4-under total of 206 to claim medalist honors by two shots.
For the second consecutive outing, Brian Stark finished among the top five. Coming off a third-place showing at The Carmel Cup in OSU's season opener, the junior posted a 1-under total of 209 to finish tied for fifth place after closing with a 73 on Sunday.
Senior Leo Oyo rose 15 spots into a tie for 12th place after firing a 2-under 68 to finish at 212. After making the turn in even-par 35, Oyo birdied Nos. 10, 11 and 12 and added his fourth birdie of the second nine at the 17th on his way to a 2-under 33 side.
After opening with a pair of 71s, senior Eugenio Chacarra closed with a 72 to finish at 214 and tied for 20th place.
Sophomore Jonas Baumgartner posted his low round of the event, a 70, to finish tied for 28th place at 216.
Sophomore Bo Jin signed for a 73 to finish at 225 and tied for 64th place.
OSU will be back in action on Oct. 4 when they travel to Fort Worth to take part in the Colonial Collegiate Invitational.
