Cowboys Third Through 36 Holes At Olympia Fields

OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team carded a 7-over 287 during its second round at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational on Saturday to dip into third place at Olympia Fields Country Club.
Through 36 holes at the par-70, 7,310-yard layout, the top-ranked Cowboys stand at 8-over 568 and four shots out of second place held by Arizona State. North Carolina used a 2-under 278 to move into the top spot in the team race at 561.
OSU's Brian Stark fired a bogey-free 67 to move into a three-way tie for first place. The junior stands at 4-under 136 and tied with Arizona State's David Puig and North Carolina's David Ford.
After posting two bogeys in his first seven holes, Stark has played his last 29 holes in 6-under par. He opened Saturday's round with five consecutive pars before collecting his first birdie of the day at the sixth to turn in 1-under 34. He added birdies at the 13th and 15th to move to 3-under for the day.
Senior Eugenio Chacarra logged his second consecutive 71 to stand at 142 and tied for 17th place, while classmate Leo Oyo carded a 74 to dip into a tie for 27th place at 144.
Sophomore Jonas Baumgartner carded a 75 during his second round to come in with a 146 total and tied for 37th place.
Sophomore Bo Jin signed for his second consecutive 76 to finish the day tied for 67th place at 152.
The Cowboys will begin their final round tomorrow at 9 a.m. (CST) and will be grouped with North Carolina and Arizona State. Live scoring for the event is available at golfstat.com.
