STILLWATER - Oklahoma State's Chelsea Alexander, Hayley Busby and Carrie Eberle have been named to the 2020-21 CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 Softball First Team.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams recognize student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. District 7 includes all Division I programs in Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas.
The Cowgirl trio now advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot, with first-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees announced in late July.
The three selections mark the second most in OSU program history, trailing only the 1991 Cowgirl team that had four honorees.
A senior outfielder, Alexander hit .373 in 58 games and led the Cowgirls with 16 stolen bases, collecting All-Big 12 Second Team honors and helping OSU reach the College World Series. An Academic All-Big 12 First Team performer, she carries a 3.94 grade point average in agricultural communications.
Busby earned All-America honors for the Cowgirls in 2021 as the outfielder led OSU with 19 home runs and ranked second on the club with a .376 batting average, 12 doubles and 49 RBIs. A graduate student working towards a degree in teaching, learning and leadership, Busby was an Academic All-Big 12 First Team performer.
Eberle earned Big 12 Conference Pitcher of the Year and All-America honors this season as the right-hander went 26-4 in the circle and posted a 1.40 ERA and seven shutouts. In 190 1/3 innings, she racked up 156 strikeouts. Another graduate student and Academic All-Big 12 First Team honoree, Eberle is working on a graduate degree in forensic sciences.
