Stark, Cunningham Nominated For Big 12 Athletes of the Year

STILLWATER – After earning the Big 12 Player of the Year awards in their respective sports, Oklahoma State All-Americans Cade Cunningham and Maja Stark were nominated for Big 12 Conference Athletes of the Year.
Fans will be able to vote for their male and female choices from 2 p.m. CT on July 2 until 8 a.m. CT July 5 on Big12Sports.com. Fan voting will be considered in the final tally for selecting this prestigious award. The award winners are announced on Tuesday, July 6.

- 2021 Big 12 Golfer of the Year.
- Ranked second in the nation with a school-record stroke average of 70.48 (-1.42 to par).

- The first player in program history to be named to the AP All-America first team and just the second player in program history to be a consensus first-team All-American.
- Wayman Tisdale Award winner as the top freshman in college basketball. Also earned National Freshman of the Year by the NABC, USA TODAY, The Sporting News and College Insider.
- A finalist for the Naismith Trophy and the John R. Wooden Award.
- Just the fourth player in league history to earn Big 12 Player of the Year and Big 12 Freshman of the Year honors in the same season, joining Kevin Durant, Marcus Smart and Michael Beasley.
- The Big 12's leading scorer with 20.2 points per game, which was second nationally among freshmen and 20th overall.
