Current and Former OSU Track and Field Athletes Take On Olympic Trials
June 17, 2021 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track, Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
THE BASICS
While the NCAA outdoor track and field season came to an end in Eugene, Oregon with the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, a number of OSU student-athletes and alumni will vie for a trip to Tokyo, Japan, for the chance to represent their home countries and their alma mater at the 2020 Olympic Games, set to take place from July 23 through August 8.
With cancellation of the Games in 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, athletes all over the world were kept from the ultimate culmination of global athletic competition that the Olympics presents. Now, with great precautionary measures in place, the Olympic Games are set to continue, and as always, the Olympic Trials will be the proving ground for the world's most elite talent.
