INDIANAPOLISÂ - Oklahoma State has been selected as one of 48 teams for the 2020 NCAA Women's Soccer Championship, earning the 13th NCAA tourney bid in program history.

The Cowgirls will be making their second-straight NCAA Tournament appearance and sixth in the last eight years after posting a 12-3-1 record that included a 6-2-1 mark and third-place finish in the Big 12 Conference.

OSU was awarded the No. 10 national seed and will face the Colorado-South Alabama winner in NCAA second round action on either April 30 or May 1 in a to-be-determined site in North Carolina.

"We're really excited to be back in the postseason," said OSU head coach Colin Carmichael. "Like all teams, our players have sacrificed a lot to earn this opportunity, and I'm really proud of them. The uniqueness of this year has presented a lot of challenges, and our team has stepped up and handled things extremely well to put us in this position.

"We're looking forward to a great tournament and are thrilled to get the chance to keep playing as long as we can."

OSU's NCAA tourney berth marks its 12th in the last 15 years. The Cowgirls' first NCAA appearance came in 2003, and they made six consecutive trips from 2006-11 and back-to-back appearances in 2013-14 and 2016-17.

The Cowgirls are 10-9-5 all time at the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship, and OSU has advanced past the first round seven times, including back-to-back Elite Eight appearances in 2010 and 2011.
