Trio Of Cowgirls Collects Big 12 Soccer Honors

IRVING, Texas — Oklahoma State cleaned up in the Big 12 Soccer weekly awards for Week 11 as three Cowgirls were honored for their performances in the team's 1-0 overtime win at No. 17 Saint Louis, which marked OSU's first road win over a ranked team this season and snapped the Billikens 25-game home unbeaten streak.
For the second consecutive week and third time this season, Emily Plotz collected Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week honors, while Kim Rodriguez was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week for the second-straight week. Grace Yochum joined the list by being named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, her second time to earn that recognition this season.
Yochum scored the golden goal in the 98th minute against SLU as she converted a penalty kick in the first overtime to lift the Cowgirls to the victory. The goal was Yochum's sixth of the season, tying her for the conference lead. She tallied three shots against the Billikens, two of those on goal.
Plotz recorded a career-high seven saves in the match, five of those coming in the second half as she notched her fifth shutout of the season.
Rodriguez anchored OSU's defense as the Cowgirls posted their sixth shutout of the season. The senior played all 98 minutes in the win and had a key role in the play that led to the win as she intercepted a SLU pass, dribbled upfield and sent a pass to an OSU attacker in the box, where they were fouled to earn the penalty kick that was converted for the game-winning goal.
