March 06, 2021 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track, Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
AUSTIN, Texas – Seniors Aaliyah Birmingham and Garret Calhoun seemed to be entirely unphased by the extended break from outdoor track and field competition, as they earned event titles in the women's 100 meters the men's 1500 meters, respectively, in Oklahoma State's first outdoor meet of the season.
Birmingham, in her last year of outdoor eligibility, got off to the right start with an event win the 100 meters, clocking in at 11.40. The time ranks second in Cowgirl history and her pace already ranks first in the NCAA and sixth in the nation early in this season.
For Calhoun, his senior outdoor season at Oklahoma State started with similar success, as he claimed the 1,500-meter title in a time of 3:47.62.
