Cowgirl Soccer’s Lockwood Tabbed Big 12’s Best

IRVING, Texas – Oklahoma State goalkeeper Amber Lockwood added her name to the long list of Cowgirl conference weekly award winners this season as she was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Week for Week 14.
Lockwood posted a pair of saves in a shutout performance against Oklahoma in OSU's 2-0 victory last Saturday as the Cowgirls ran their winning streak to eight games, which is tied for the fourth longest winning streak in program history.
In just the second start of her career and pressed into duty because of a pregame injury to the scheduled starter, Lockwood made the most of her opportunity in her first Bedlam action to help the Cowgirls secure the clean sheet. She made a key save in the 72nd minute on an OU free kick from just outside the box with OSU still clinging to a 1-0 lead.
Lockwood's shutout was the second of her career and marked OSU's eighth of the season.
OSU has now collected 15 weekly awards from the conference this season, including 10 over the last five weeks.
