Campbell Tabbed Big 12's Best Twice

IRVING, Texas — Oklahoma State's Justin Campbell was rewarded for his dominating performance on the mound at Oral Roberts by being named the Big 12 Conference Pitcher of the Week and the Big 12 Co-Newcomer of the Week for Week 4.

Campbell had a memorable night against the Golden Eagles in Tulsa, racking up a career-high 14 strikeouts in seven shutout innings and issuing just one walk; the 14 strikeouts were just two shy of the OSU single-game record.

The right-hander's performance helped OSU snap a nine-game losing streak to ORU at J.L. Johnson Stadium, a streak that dated back to 1995. Campbell's effort saw also saw him improve to 2-0 and lower his ERA to 0.53, and he took over the NCAA lead in strikeouts on the season.

Campbell's honors mark the third consecutive week that an OSU player has collected a Big 12 weekly award. Brock Mathis was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week for Week 2, while Christian Encarnacion-Strand picked up the same award for Week 3.
