Cowboys Head To San Antonio For Cabo Collegiate

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – Oklahoma State's men's golf team will travel to San Antonio this week to take part in the Cabo Collegiate at TPC San Antonio's Oak Course.
In its 11th year, the Cabo Collegiate will take place in the United States for the first time this season and will have 16 teams in the field. The 54-hole event will get underway on Monday and will run through Wednesday with 18 holes being contested each day.
OSU has competed in the event on four previous occasions, winning its first three starts in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Austin Eckroat claimed medalist honors in 2019 with a 14-under total of 199, which included a tournament-record 63 during his second round.
The Cowboys are coming off a runner-up showing in their most recent outing at the Seminole Intercollegiate on Feb. 21.
In addition to Eckroat, the OSU lineup will include sophomores Eugenio Chacarra and Aman Gupta as well we freshmen Bo Jin and Brian Stark.
Freshman Hazen Newman will compete individually for OSU.
It was announced last week the tournament medalist will be extended a sponsor's exemption to compete at the PGA Tour's Valero Texas Open, which is slated to start March 29.
