Cowgirl Softball Breaks Program Record in Sweep of LSU

Baton Rouge, La. – Oklahoma State softball extended its current win streak to a program record 23 wins with two wins today at LSU.Â

Game one was a classic pitcher's duel with Kelly Maxwell in the circle for the Cowgirls. The lefty continued her dominance in the circle, keeping her 0.00 ERA in tact with a two-hit shutout of the Tigers.Â

Junior Kiley Naomi drove in the only run of the game for the Cowgirls in the second inning. Alysen Febrey, Chyenne Factor, and Taylor Tuck also had hits in game one.Â

Game two featured another low scoring contest, with the Cowgirls taking home the 3-1 win.Â

Oklahoma State jumped out to an early lead in the second inning before LSU tied it up in the same inning. The Cowgirls broke through in the fifth inning, scoring two in the inning with the help from an LSU error.Â

Carrie Eberle got the start in the circle for game two against LSU. The returning All-American gave up just three hits and one earned run, while fanning six Tigers.Â

Alysen Febrey and Michaela Richbourg led the Cowgirl offense, each going 1-for-3 with a double in the nightcap. Reagan Wright and Sydney Pennington each collected an RBI in the win.Â

The Cowgirls are back in action tomorrow for a doubleheader against Buffalo and Louisiana. The games are set to begin at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. CT.
