Warren Receives His Fifth Big 12 Weekly Honor of 2021

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State running back Jaylen Warren earned OSU's 11th weekly conference honor of the 2021 season Monday as he was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week for his performance in the Cowboys' 24-3 win over West Virginia.
A senior transfer in his first year in Stillwater, Warren has now received five Big 12 weekly honors this season, which is two more than any other player in the conference.
Warren finished with 78 rushing yards to lead all players in the game on just 16 carries (4.9 yards per carry) at West Virginia. He scored a 13-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter to seal the win for the Cowboys and added nine receiving yards to bring his all-purpose yardage to 87, also the most for the Cowboys on the day. Six of Warren's 16 carries resulted in either a first down or a touchdown.
On the season, Warren ranks among the top 25 FBS players in offensive touches per game, rushing yards, rushing yards per game, 100-yard rushing games, scrimmage yards, scrimmage yards per game and 10-plus yard carries. He needs just 72 rushing yards to hit 1,000 for the year, and he is the only player with two of the top five single-game rushing performances in the conference this season.
The recognition marks the fourth time Warren has been named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week as he was honored after the Boise State, Baylor and Texas games. He was also named the offensive player of the week after the Boise State game.
