Cowboy Football Holds at No. 12 in Polls

STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State football team remained at No.12 in both major polls released on Sunday following an open weekend.
The Cowboys have reached the top 15 of the Associated Press Top 25 at some point in 12 of the past 14 seasons, and this week's No. 12 ranking in the AP poll matching their highest since Oct. 31, 2020, when they were ranked sixth in the country.
A wild weekend in college football saw three top-10 teams suffer defeats, six total teams ranked in the AP poll lose, and several close calls for highly ranked teams.
The Cowboys are one of three teams from the Big 12 ranked in both polls, as Oklahoma sits at No. 4/3 and OSU's next opponent, Texas, is ranked No. 25 in the AP poll and receiving votes in the coaches poll. Baylor, Iowa State and Kansas State are all receiving vote in at least one of the rankings.
Oklahoma State will travel to Austin for its third straight ranked matchup on Saturday with kickoff slated for 11 a.m. CT on FOX. Texas is coming off a 55-48 defeat at the hands of Oklahoma in the Red River Showdown.
