Adamopoulou, Bradford, Castro Post Top-Five Performances on Day One of Texas Tech Invite

LUBBOCK, Texas – Ariadni Adamopoulou in the pole vault, Hannah Bradford in the weight throw and Juan Diego Castro in the 800 meters highlighted Oklahoma State's first day at the Texas Tech Invitational and Multis.
Following up her program-record setting performance from a week ago, Adamopoulou bested herself yet again, vaulting 4.36m for a new school record, a new personal best and a second place finish=
Bradford looked to be in midseason form in her first competition of the 2021 indoor season. The Cowgirl throws veteran posted a notable 16.41m mark in the weight throw, finishing 5th overall.
Coming off an injury he suffered during the offseason, Castro returned to the track with an impressive 5th place finish in the 800 meters crossing the line in 1:50.34, a mark that is 10th fastest in Cowboy history.
Joining Bradford in throws events was freshman Zac Robbins. After his OSU debut last week in Fayetteville, Robbins put up a 14.01m mark in the weight throw, placing 8th overall.
Representing Oklahoma State in the triple jump was Saara Hakanen. The sophomore hailing from Kerala, Finland, placed 6th with a 12.75m jump in her first competition of the indoor season.
Oklahoma State multis athletes got their first chance to compete in nearly a year and they took full advantage to return to the track and the field.
2020 Indoor All-Big 12 pentathletes Bailey Golden and Megan Mann, along with freshman Maddie Meiner, took their first appearance in the 2021 season to get back to form. Golden stood out most notably in the shot put, in which she placed second, adding 650 points to her 2914-point total, which landed her in 11th place overall on the day.
It was the trio of juniors Will Edmonds and Jake Dyer, and sophomore Max Braht who represented OSU in the men's heptathlon. In their first day of the competition, the Cowboys showed great potential. Edmonds led the way, finishing in 7th thanks to top-10 finishes in the 60 meters, long jump and shot put. Not far behind, Braht scored respectably, with 7th and 9th place finishes in the 60 meters and long jump, respectively.
Oklahoma State will be back at it for day two of the Texas Tech Invitational and Multis tomorrow with action slated to begin at 10 a.m.
