Cowgirl Equestrian Riders Compete Over the Break

Six Oklahoma State Cowgirls competed in various events over the winter break, including senior and NCEA Horsemanship Rider of the Year Harley Huff and sophomore Darby Madden and freshmen Dawson Amick, Elizabeth Carter, Lizzie Meerman and Ella Rainauer.
Huff competed at Tom Powers at World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Florida. She was the Champion 3-year old Novice Horse, Novice Rider Western Pleasure and finished third in 3-year old Limited Non-Pro Western Pleasure.
Amick competed at the $5,000 National Hunter Derby in Aiken, South Carolina and recorded two top-12 placings. Carter competed at the Barracks Horse Show in Lexington, Virginia, where she finished first in the VHSA Adult Medal.
At the Gold Coast Circuit in Tampa, Florida, Meerman was the Reserve Circuit Championship in the Level 1 Youth Trail. She was also the Reserve Circuit Champion in level 3 showmanship.Â
Reinauer competed several times throughout the fall. She was the Queenie Productions Winter Festival Champion and won three classes in the 18-35 Adult Amateur Hunters. She finished first in both the Jackpot Hunter Derby and the Ariat Medal and second in the THIS Adult Medal.
While competing in Florida at HITS Ocala, Madden finished fourth in the High Adult Jumper Classic during pre circuit week one and moved up to a second-place finish in week two of the event.
These Cowgirls are back in Stillwater, joining the team at practice and ready to make a run at an NCEA national championship this spring season.
