January 19, 2021 | Cowgirl Softball
STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State softball team picked up its first top-10 ranking of the season coming in at No. 10 in the 2021 D1 Softball preseason top 25 rankings.
This marks the first preseason top-10 ranking for Oklahoma State softball since 1994.
The Cowgirls finished the 2020 season with a 19-5 overall record and were ranked No. 11 in the nation when the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. OSU returns all of its top talent, including All-Americans Alysen Febrey, Carrie Eberle and Sydney Pennington.
Last year's squad boasted a .302 overall batting average, as well as a 1.20 earned run average that ranked third in the NCAA.
Along with the core lineup from a year ago, the Cowgirls welcome a pair of standout Division I transfers in Jordan Doggett (Georgia) and Reagan Wright (UT Arlington), as well as four impressive freshmen for the 2021 season.
OSU is joined by fellow Big 12 schools Oklahoma (2), Texas (9), and Baylor (19) in the D1 Softball rankings.
